Take Back Your Time: The Hidden ROI of Coaching

Let’s cut to the chase: You didn’t go into medicine to drown in paperwork, fight with insurance companies, or feel like a cog in a machine. This week, I’m sharing how coaching isn’t just about ā€œfeeling betterā€ā€”it’s about tangible results, both financially and personally.

šŸ“– From the Blog: ā€œPhysician Coaching: Financial Benefits and Personal Recovery Storiesā€

Let me ask you as simple question: "How much is your time worth?" In my latest post, I break down the real ROI of investing in coaching. Spoiler: It’s not just about avoiding burnout. One client I worked with cut her charting time by 30% (hello, reclaimed evenings!). Another negotiated protected time and a raise for taking on quality improvement work. Another client transitioned to part-time work without sacrificing his lifestyle by optimizing his schedule. The common demoniator: They recognized their work AND communicated it clearly. These stories prove that small shifts create big wins. Read the full post here.

"Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose a response."

- Viktor Frankl

Frankl’s words remind us: Even in a broken system, how we respond is where our power lives.

Goal: Identify one task to delegate or delete this week.

  1. List Your ā€œTime Thievesā€: Jot down 3-5 recurring tasks that drain you (e.g., prior auths, inbox triage, scheduling).
  2. Ask Brutally: ā€œDoes this require MY expertise, or could someone else do it 80% as well?ā€
  3. Take Action: For one task, either:
    • Delegate: Email your team with a clear ask (ā€œCan we trial having MA’s handle routine Rx renewals?ā€)
    • Delete: Stop doing it for a week. See if anyone notices. (Spoiler: They rarely do.)

Remember, mastering your time isn't about doing more- it is about doing what matters most.

To thriving,

Ben
